Atawa Crop Top – design by Karen Adendorff

After a very loooong sabbatical, I decided to slowly return to my many years of crochet designing and selling of crochet patterns. I had such a burn-out working for three magazines, doing my own workshops and writing books that I did not want to touch yarn or a crochet hook for the past 7 years. The stress levels were too many and too long. Now I can design at my own pace without the pressure of deadlines and public toxicity. I have loads and loads of patterns that I have designed that I want to revamp or modernize, but I also want to keep is simple and fresh.

This Top will be the first to be available on my Etsy and Ravelry shops and is hopefully accessible to most levels of crocheters.

The Atawa Crop Top consists of double crochet stitches and chain stitches to form a unique filet design on the front.
Difficulty: Intermediate and it is written in American Terminology.

The filet pattern is written and assisted by a crochet diagram for easy reading.

The top comes in 4 sizes with 10 cm positive ease on the breast circumference:
Small: 81 cm + 10 cm positive ease
Medium: 91.5 cm + 10 cm positive ease
Large: 101.5 cm + 10 cm positive ease
X-Large: 111.5 cm + 10 cm positive ease

Materials:
7(8; 9;10) balls Scheepjes Catona (50 g/125 m): color 396 Rose Wine or any other fingering weight yarn
2 mm and 3 mm crochet hooks (or necessary to match gauge)

Also a big thank you to my testers: Hester Meintjies, Sonja Scheepers, Annelize Vorster and Vanessa Wright (Founder of HOPE).

I hope you enjoy the pattern and suggestions for future patterns are more than welcome!

Lovies Karen
